Utah Belt EMD GP38-2

Unread postby harryadkins » Fri May 03, 2019 1:07 pm

This model is a Utah Belt Railroad repaint of Justin Cornell's freeware GP38-2. I often run Utah Belt scenarios on the Castle Rock route.

The Utah Belt is a model railroad layout created by Eric Brooman. It is set in northern New Mexico. Intermodal, unit coal trains and manifests pulled by modern EMD power keep the rails polished on this intermountain bridge route. The Utah Belt has been featured in many issues of both Model Railroader and Railroad Model Craftsman.

Run the RW_AssetSetup file to install the model In the scenario editor the model is listed as: “Utah Belt GP38-2”. This model is installed into: Assets\ JCornell\EMD\RailVehicles\Diesel\GP38-2\UBelt\

This package is released as freeware. You can do whatever you wish with it EXCEPT make money with its use. Justin Cornell owns all copyrights to this model, I only repainted it.

Excellent work on the locomotive! *!!thnx!!* !!*ok*!! !*salute*!

Looks very professionally done. Good job on matching the colors. I sometimes find matching colors from pictures to be a bit difficult. But then I am color blind and have trouble with shades of green and red.

Great choice on the locomotive. I like J Cornell's GP38-2 because it is a simple model that operates very well and sounds good. I have a few BN, BNSF, ADCX, and Union Pacific re-paints in it.

The Utah Belt is a interesting layout. I did a more linear, stretched out copy of the model railroad layout for the Trainz 2004 simulator. It was as faithful to the original layout as possible.

So thank you for the locomotive, rolling stock, and the suggestion of running it on the Castle Rock route. I was trying to decide what layout to run it on and your suggestion solved that question.

Oh and I can't remember where I found a lighting enhancement designed specifically for that locomotive but if people google around I'm quite sure they'll find it.
