Sherman Hill 1950s

Unread postby Alpenfreight » Sun Nov 19, 2017 9:34 pm

Hey All,

I have finally released v1.0 of my Sherman Hill Vintage route. If you are interested please head on over to my website for information and to download:

https://alpenfreight.wordpress.com/port ... l-vintage/

Image

This is Sherman Hill backdated to the 1950s. I first started working on this project back in June of 2015 and have reached a state where I believe I can share the route with others. I have taken the default Sherman Hill route and re-imagined the route with both track and scenery changes to be as it was in the mid – late 1950s, just after the Harriman expansion. Although I have spent a long while researching and making the route as accurate as possible, there are most likely a large number of inaccuracies. I hope that I have created a believable experience and any major historical blunders can be overlooked.

Trackage updated to mid-1950s:
-Single lines from Laramie to Hermosa
-Underpass of westbound trackage at Hermosa
-Expanded Laramie Yard with Roundhouse
-Expanded Cheyenne Roundhouse
-Expanded Sherman with Depot and Wye
-Expanded Harriman
Steam facilities recreated:
-Cheyenne, Laramie, Boire, Harriman, Sherman, Hermosa (and more!)
Scenery updated:
-Accurate vehicles and traffic (thanks RWA)
-Removal of large industries
-Additional wildlife
-Removal of interstate system
-Removal of Concrete Ties
-Expanded Cheyenne Station
-Mileposts
-Harriman Construction Equipment

There should be a reefer full of beer headed your way for all the work you've done on this project. Congratulations on the release, and many thanks! !*cheers*!

Hey folks,

It was brought to my attention there are a few additional assets used by the route that I didnt mention. I went and cleaned up the DLC list used yesterday to remove a few packs I only used a random item or two from. None of these packs were installed in my final testing so you should be good to run the route without them.

I’ll update the route when I’m home tonight to fully remove the assets

All of the required resources are really needed. I use a lot of crossing blocks/buildings/equipment/clutter from VNHRR

Apologies, I really did pare down the list of requirements, so what you're left with is what I used extensively.

The route will load and be drivable with just Sherman Hill, but you'll have some weird looking scenes without all of the mentioned DLC.

**!!bow!!** !*drool*!

When Rick posted about the B&LE, I was prepared to have his baby, so much was my excitement for a decent steam route . Sorry Rick, you are now second in line !*roll-laugh*!

Thanks for sticking with this and making it happen... Cant wait to get this done when my new PC rolls up next week.

**!!bow!!**

!*cheers*!

Thanks everyone for all the kind words.

Update 1.01 released at my website:

1.01 – Removed additional references to non-required scenery items. Expanded Laramie/Cheyenne Station platforms.

I was unable to remove a few of the Wherry Lines trackrule references with RWTools. I honestly don't know where they're used but I'll try to hunt around to remove them for future versions.
