Atlantic Bay Terminal, my successor to the IIR

Hi,

I have just uploaded a new route to the Steam Workshop: the Atlantic Bay Terminal, my own successor to the Industrial Interactive Route.

The Atlantic Bay Terminal is even more compact than the IIR was, and I believe has a much better track layout. The ideas for which I borrowed from various model railroading 'Timesaver' layouts, combined with each other and expanded with an interchange yard and a few other sites. There is no AI, there aren't even any signals on the new route, but the possibilities to create complex switching scenarios should be great.

Here's the link to the Workshop page:

More info and screenshots are on the Workshop page, three preview pictures below.

Cheers
Michael

Very nicely done, Michael. I gave it a thumbs up in the Workshop, hoping many more do as well. Enough to keep a switcher busy for several hours at a time. Quick screenie using a couple of SW9s in my favorite livery, hauling gondolas from the scrapyard:

Ideal for writing small scenarios to share with the community.
Thanks again for your efforts! *!!thnx!!*
Best, !*cheers*!

A Switchman's Dream and Nightmare. Outstanding route for switching puzzles. Thank you.

Thanks much for all your kind comments!

!*hp*! I know what you mean -- me in the 44-tonner, cars at both couplers and on all tracks around me. "How did I get into this mess? And how do I get out of it?"

Did anybody notice anything wrong on the route, any bugs or issues, or any areas that could/should be improved?

Do you think the track layout is ready to go? I've been tempted to add a short runaround siding between the paper mill and the engine facilities... but do we really need it or would it make things too, well, uhm, "easy"?

One other question -- did my two free roam scenarios upload with the route, or does it only come with the (on this route utterly useless) QuickDrive?

Thanks!
Michael

Only the quick drive.

It would be fun to start with a string of freight cars in the exchange yard and the stack of waybills with their destination industries...Then see who can set all the cars at the correct sidings with the least amount of reverses. What Fun solving those kinds of puzzles!

Fantastic switch territory. Thanks for all your effort. In my traveling days, I saw many an industrial center resembling this. Sadly, the trucking industry put the pressure to the small yards
and most of these centers are few and far between.

Many thanks for the reply! I'll upload the free roams separately then.

Michael, I like it the way it is. Don't add the runaround that you referred to.

Thanks, yes, I won't add that siding, it would probably lessen the fun. *!twisted!*
