Amtrak F7 Patch/Update

Unread postby StrategyFirst » Wed Aug 05, 2015 4:59 am

This is an update to Michael Zimmer's Amtrak F7 repaint to fix the bugs rendering it unusable, and to bring it up to TS2015 standards.

The code is now fully functional, with a few physics tweaks! !!*ok*!!
  • Rain effects
  • (Projected) headlights with shadows
  • Locomotive information and picture for menu

Bugs fixed:
  • Cab view was glitchy/blurred
  • Fixed controls, now operable (at first you could do anything at all)
  • A few physics and response tweaks for the controls

I'm uploading it to the Railworks America site. Check back once the database is updated. :D

CREDITS:
Michael Zimmer for the great repaint
Kuju for the base model

Please note that everything is freeware, and may be distributed freely. Thus, ALL the files are included.

Am I the only one with ghost numbers on the B unit and faintly on the A unit?

Mine are fine, (No Problems with numbering) just finished running them no problems at all. Been waiting along time for someone to upgrade these. Thanks Again.. Now if we could just get someone to edit the view so you could look out the right window while driving these old F7's would be back in service all over the place... The old RW Camera cab tool use to work but not since TS2015 I had all my F units edited... Again to the Author thanks so much for the upgrade...

Thanks!

I'm currently developing some scenarios for it to go along with the phase I lightweights. Hoping to re-create the Amtrak Super Chief. !!*ok*!!

Nope, I don't have that problem. It could be your graphics settings.

Those are coming from the ALPHA channel. Probably only show up with the sun at certain positions and it is trying to make shadows around the number that are not there but used to be.

Check this out for a possible consist from 1971-1981:
http://www.trainweb.org/fredatsf/SWchief71.htm

Also if you need early Amtrak schedules, lookey here:
http://www.timetables.org/
Just click browse and select the year you want to look at. Goes from 1971 to 2010.
!!*ok*!!

Thanks! I was looking for an Amtrak specific one (I was going off of the ATSF Super Chief set before). I already have the cars, so this should work out great!

It'll be a challenge to stick to time with the early consist - 19 cars total, including single-level stock and ex-ATSF high-level stock where the Super Chief was combined with the El Capitan near the end of ATSF passenger operations and from then on until the creation of today's Southwest Chief.
