Coaster EMD F59PHI & Bombardier BiLevel Cab Car Physics Mod Released

This is the Coaster EMD F59PHI & Companion Bombardier BiLevel Cab Car Physics Modification pack V3.0, TS2016 Edition

In order to utilize this freeware physics upgrade, you must have purchased the "San Diego Commuter Rail F59PHI" pack avaliable at Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/222609/

This is a freeware pack; in no way is it to be used for commercial purposes. You are free, however to further modify the physics enhancements found in this pack for personal use if you so choose.

THIS IS NOT A SOUND UPGRADE PACK. Physics adjustments made around the existing sounds.

The purpose of this pack is to adjust the locomotive weight, fuel capacity, motor amperage limits, and braking effort values for more realistic operation.

Also included is the signature JohnS brake fix. V3.0 upgrades brakes from direct release to graduated release.

Parameter Change Log:
1. Lowered fuel tank capacity from 4,800 gallons to 1,800 gallons.
2. Increased locomotive weight to 273,370 lbs (124 metric tons) for better adhesion characteristics.
3. Maximum tractive amps is 1785; maximum braking amps is 760.
4. Adjusted dynamic brake effort curve for more realistic operation.
5. Increases weight of passenger cars to simulate passenger load.


IMPORTANT; Install Instructions

1. Locate F59PHPack01 (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\Assets\RSC\F59Coaster)
2. Open DTG_Coaster_EMD_F59PHI_Physics_Mod_Pack.7z
3. Drag the file folder from the .rar in step 2 into the directory you opened in step 1.
4. The installation should be complete. Run TS2016 to check.
5. If installation is botched or does not work, to back up to original files, delete the folder from step 3.

Good move-will the Metrolink pack have the JohnS brake fix and correction of the input mappers of the ND cab-cars?? (Cab car horn proxy has quill able horn files but horn does not quill)

I have to do some integration work before the Metrolink pack with the updated brake fix can be released.

Note: The input mapper line in the ND cab car .xml says F59PHPack01_expert, making it undrivable, When it says F59_expert or the alike, it should work fine (view F59PHPack01 file structure to verify)

The ND means no drivers so you wouldn't be using that as a lead unit. Its for when the car is trailing or in the middle of a consist. I never noticed any issues with it because I never ran it in the lead. I can take a look anyway.

There is a Career scenario (The hardest one) in the LA F59PH Pack that has the ND cab car as the player unit. It is inoperable using the HUD or keyboard.

That type of car is not meant to be operated. Seems DTG messed up when picking the player consist. Easiest thing to do is use RWTools and swap out the cabcar for the correct one or swap out the whole consist.

Not everyone can afford RWTools. I managed to easily solve the problem by creating a new .bin file that I think is F59PHPack01_Expert. It (The cab car) can be driven in some situations such as a shunt move from the yard.

Just meant that was the easiest way not that you needed it. If you can navigate around bin files you could look for the consist file of that scenario and change it that way. Give me some time tonight and I'll see what I can do to help you out. I haven't played that scenario myself yet so this will make a good chance to do so.

Pack has been updated again. Brake fix has been modified; brakes are now graduated release as opposed to direct release.
