Very impressed with the weathering.

My own rail fanning as well as the wonderful posts by Daniel Gibbs on FB show a lot of pretty clean grain hoppers. Unfortunately the taggers have gotten to too many of them and I refuse to show any of these criminals for many reasons not the least being cars with them jump at you if you use more than one in a consist. In that vein I'm going to do some of these pretty clean or with very light weathering and then a few real tired paint jobs. Any thoughts or ideas would be helpful.

Here's another one...

GX_Hopper04.jpg

Shown above is the original paint job applied to 1000 cars manufactured by Hawker Siddeley Canada in 1981 under contract to the province of Saskatchewan. In 2007, 110 of the cars were repaired and repainted with the bright green paint scheme, partially seen here and in a previous post. This car will be available in next week's upload cycle. It will follow standard repaint rules.

Again a disclaimer: all the models shown in this thread are of a TrinityRail 5161 cu. ft. hopper. Covered hoppers are manufactured by several different companies in a variety of configurations and capacities, but don't let that stop you! Also remember you can adjust the amount of weathering as you please.

It sounds like you're volunteering for a repaint project.

ADM is Archer-Daniels-Midland, a mega-corporation involved in the grain industry. It has redesigned its company logo a couple of times, most recently this year.

I don't know why I chose the the old logo and I don't even care to remember. Completely arbitrary decision. Wanted something different. Maybe the source photos were better or clearer. Who knows? Isn't this what repaints are about? Most covered hoppers are a plain, bland gray.
