Also provides key bindings.

Lots of keys, but none pertain to the power settings I believe.

Also, I found no G-Trax lightweights in my downloads.

The CZ cars are much better detailed, the train does look like a silver worm/snake indeed, but there are no tail lights burning?

Oops, forgot there is download link under the Youtube video.

I do encourage everybody to frequently check his website, as he does update the locomotives for a little while. The 2900 already has an update, to 1.0.14

To get the light in the back of the train to work you need to change the lights bin file and add a way to turn on the light call gyro 2 from inside the cab.

I've found NO issues in terms of power. Then again, I'm the one who handled the physics package for this locomotive and tested it extensively before it was released.

That being said, avoid using the independent brake as I've found that it can get stuck applied in certain situations, which is probably where your power issues are stemming from. If this does happen, release the independent, take an automatic application, then release the automatic application.

Test data that I have access to for this locomotive type show that the maximum 62.5% cutoff value could be maintained all the way up to 30 mph, so that should not be surprising. I've been able to handle 12 cars up a 2.2% grade at an average speed of about 20 mph, so 14 cars up a 1.4% grade should not be a problem. Going up a 3.5% grade, you're probably not going to be able to do more than 4-5 cars. On the other end of the coin, I've made it up 1.14% grade of Wasatch with 22 cars at a maximum speed of about 35 mph.

Perhaps indeed, as the independent brake seems to spring back to 30% after release. Will check again.

No problem with power here even with the independent at 30%. Running at 71 MPH.

Are there key bindings to open the tender fill lids? I noticed when placing the lids were animated. I have downloaded a list of key bindings that is quite extensive but tender components are not listed.

A few notices, the loco brake cylinder pressure reads on the Control Air gauge.
The brake rigging is animated too.

The included Super Chief is a lightweight streamliner consist of 9 cars, about 500 tons.

The starting tractive effort of 2900 is 66000 Lbf, according to the Wikipedia.

Would a single 2900 be able to start itself and the Super Chief from the stiff grade at Raton depot towards Trinidad?

I can get the train to move, full throttle, maximum cutoff, slipping lots, sanding all the way, but it still stalls when the grade exceeds 3%. I suppose a helper was added in steam days.
I remember to have seen a 2-10-2 DLC somewhere, but then a Santa Fe repaint is needed.

The tender is a separate rail vehicle, so it needs its own inputmapper, unless the water and oil lids can be scripted to the locomotive inputmapper?

The tender is already scripted to the locomotive because of its animated brake gear.

Upon perusing the .bin files, the .out script files, I found there are references to both oil and water lids in engine and tender scripts, but they seem not to linked to any key in the inputmapper, nor could I find a lever on the front of the tender to operate them. I suppose on the prototype, the fireman had to climb on the deck to lift the lids.

The water and oil lids are animated and open when taking water or fuel, well done!
But it seems most routes set in the modern era lack fuel and water points?

A suggestion for small improvement: water and steam effects at the injectors?

After applying your mod, there is black steam?

I noticed a minor audio issue with the independent brake when comparing to FanRailer’s videos. The file "DSGDDR\RailSimulatorUS\Audio\RailVehicles\Steam\ATSF 2900\Cab\Sounds\IndReleaseOut.dav" seems to be missing from the rwp file (both 1.0.11 and 1.0.14).

But overall, it's a fantastic locomotive. I've been having a lot of fun with it so far.
