ES44 10-Engine Sound and Total Lighting Enhancement Pack released

Unread postby Machinist » Wed Jul 18, 2012 9:50 am

Go listen to the new engine's sounds and see the lighting features... *!!wink!!*

10 types per livery: basic model plus 9 Helpers of UP, UP Heritage, BNSF (including the color fix by ATSF3814) and Black.

Please read the Readme.pdf within the pack in order to avoid:
a) installation problems (use the option "Extract here" to extract correctly the files);
b) using the same type of engine together or close each other, for example:
44-Helper & 44-Helper; or
44d-Helper & 44d-Helper; or even
ES44AC UP & ES44AC Black (both are of the same type: basic engine of respective livery, though of different liveries)

I give it a 4/5. only because when you hit top rpm the rumble of the engine is almost not there, all you hear is that scraping sound with no rumble.

!!**sorry**!! Due to work commitments, Krellnut has left his home (and his game's pc) today morning, and will be back home only in a couple of months (maybe one, two or more). Technical details about sound samples and recording stuff (personally recorded by Krellnut, live and from real GEVOs) only with him.

Just some notes:
a) Each engine has its own and different sound, for example 70-e and 70-f Helpers have louder scrapping sounds, very different from the others.
b) Same for compressor sounds (in this ES44 pack), each engine has its own compressor sound in a 1-2 minutes loop, you have to listen to the complete loop to check how they sound.

They can be tested in the provided scenario (though is better each engine isolated and separated from the others) or playing the .wav files directly in the \Audio engine folder.

Cheers,
Doc.

Hey, just got back from a week long trip (family reunion, railfanning, and a really awesome RR museum), and saw this. Another good job!!! *!!thnx!!*

I really like Machinist's new headlight effects. Very realistic. !*salute*!

@up_8677 I'm glad you liked, a lot of work behind the scenes, and that's is almost the limit I can go (so far) with children objects. It would be good to see RSC making somethign closer to the Arma III demo !*roll-laugh*!

@ Ciao, Chris. Grazie mille! Very nice the comparison... !*roll-laugh*!

@BNSFdude, I wish, *!sad!* but no thanks! that's up to RSC, or even creators of engines once that sort of beam object is part of basic model, is like a piece of body. It's up to those who handle 3D Graphic tools, not my case, definitively. RSC has the "know-how" is just a matter of go on deeper. The beam of CN Widenose, for example, has a timid hallo of light surrounding the beam and small rays, is just enhance them (make'm brighter and wider). *!!wink!!*

@Dejoh, thank you for link, awesome lighting show case indeed... !*drool*!
