I would place the script RollingStockScriptModification.lua
in every package at
Assets\G-TraX\Trains\RailVehicles\Freight\Covered_Hopper\
and not in the every folder of a wagon.

And why is that?

My way is always: keep it simple.
That avoids performance issues.
Assuming you have hundreds of wagons each with it's own script, the TS will be slower than reading only one file when starting a scenario.

If I was to do that don't I need to change the instruction in each bin file for each car to identify the new location for the lua?

I hope I have understood you right like this :
Using the same file just results in the same entry of the blueprint, which does not has to be changed if you create a new repaint.

Yes, thats a second way to make it more simple.
Just keep in mind: The script has to be in the same Provider/Product/ like the blueprint. That's the only restriction.
(unlike *.GeoPcDx or *.proxyxml, which can be anywhere under Railworks/Assets/ - and that is quickdrive-compatible ! )

Dear Buzz: Don't change the already published repaints with scripts. Better no new ones ;-)

I have all repaints patched with loaded versions, new drag, new airbrake-values, which are published so far.
Anyone interested to have them as a patch in the file library ?
