A little bit late in getting this out there. Guess I just wanted to ensure the first few cars cleared the submission phase.
First off, what a great route the CVP is. It has motivated me to pitch in with some stuff of my own and the fun part is learning new stuff along the way. Like Copper Processing and the history of the CPR logo.
I wanted to fill in the gaps of available rolling stock that would normally be routed from Canadian Pacific Railway and Great Northern Railway to the Interchange tracks with the Columbia Valley Pacific Railway. The cars are based on what is needed to haul outside products and resources to the CVP customers in exchange for cars needed to haul "valley" products and resources to the CPR and GN customers.
Some are re-paints of RW&A Route Rolling stock (donationware) and others are Great Northerner (freeware) that is already in use as CVP rolling stock. Either way the intention was, that once installed, they will appear when the usually needed to run the route "boxes" are check marked on the flyout menu. Some rolling stock and shared support files will be needed to be installed to provide the basic, non-renamed, GeoPcDx files to get them set up. But once that file is transferred over that "default" stock can be removed as long as you leave any supporting files like couplers and trucks in place.
The Items are intended to represent steam-diesel transition era rolling stock as that is the era represented on the CPV Route.
Canadian Pacific Railway: Flatcars (different loads), Hopper 70ton, Boxcar 40ft (two styles), Gondola (three loads), and a Caboose.
(all have a prefix of "CanPac" to group them together in the menu and to avoid confusing them with CVP by not naming them CPR)
Great Northern Railway: Flatcars (different loads), Gondola (three loads).
(lots of great GN rolling stock out there but these were done to match what is already included in the RW&A Route that supports the CVP Route)
Columbia Pacific Valley Railway: 40ft Stockcar
(Some great rolling stock and locomotives already out there supplied by some really talented authors. Will wait to see what they come up with first)
Grand Bend Refinery (on the CVP Route)
One flatcar with three different loads for "in-house" refinery use to move the copper plates to the different processing buildings. Re-labled one flatcar and re-textured three different loads. Each load is textured to represent the copper plates during the three stages of processing. Also each wooden frame that holds the plates is labeled with a title that states what building it starts from and where it goes. Also the flatcar has brief routing instructions on the side of it. This helps the user move the cars in a realistic manner without having to be familiar with the copper processing routine.
And following the excellent CVP Instructions, the authors intent, and common sense I am putting together a Industrial Guide Sheet. The guide will list all the industries and what cars should be used for Inbound and Outbound loads for each one. That should help myself and scenario makers in figuring out what cars are needed and in planing activities for scenarios.
