This model is a fictional Utah Belt Railroad reskin of the payware RSC Southern Pacific SD70M Loco Add-On. For this model to operate correctly, you must purchase and install the payware package. You can download it here:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2226 ... oco_AddOn/

The Utah Belt is a model railroad layout created by Eric Brooman. It is set in northern New Mexico. Intermodal, unit coal trains and manifests pulled by modern EMD power keep the rails polished on this intermountain bridge route. The Utah Belt has been featured in many issues of both Model Railroader and Railroad Model Craftsman.

Run the RW_AssetSetup file to install the model. Next:
1) Copy the GEOPCX files from Assets\RSC\SD70MSPPack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70M\Default\Engine\ and paste them into Assets\RSC\SD70MSPPack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70M\UBelt\Engine\.
2) Copy the GEOPCX files from Assets\RSC\SD70MSPPack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70M\Default\CabView\ and paste them into Assets\RSC\SD70MSPPack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70M\UBelt\CabView\.

In the scenario editor the model is listed as: “Utah Belt SD70M”. This model is installed into: Assets\RSC\SD70MSPPack01\RailVehicles\Diesel\SD70M\UBelt.

This package is released as freeware. You can do whatever you wish with it EXCEPT make money with its use.

Hi Harry,

I have had the pleasure of following Eric's Utah Belt from pretty early. The first article I had read on it was when the UB was "upgrading" their fleet to new EMD units and retiring some old workhorse F-units. If memory serves me correctly, those F units were temporarily "stored" in Benton, awaiting a trade in for newer units to recycle their trucks. The photography was great, the equipment was weathered to indicate much use but in good repair, and the scenery was very close to what you expect to see in that area of the country. I think he was going for the "making enough money to keep the fleet modern, but not enough to buy a lot of factory fresh units" for the railroad. The reason I began thinking about the UB is the nice work that has been done on the engines and rolling stock that has come out lately. The SD70M's fit in perfectly with the theme of the road, which still appears to be offering "UnBeatable service". I would like to take the moment to thank Eric for his fantastic model, to you for painting up some great equipment, and to the folks at Dovetail for allowing us to be able to enjoy the Utah Belt and other roads based on model railroads without having to invest a small fortune in building a model ourselves. And I know, some people are apt to mention the cost of DLC for Donner Pass and Soldier Summit, Helper to Salt Lake City, but that is still considerably less than the cost of modeling and the space it takes. The original modelers deserve a huge amount of gratitude for providing the inspiration (I also recall articles on the Allegheny Midland, the Gorre and Daphited and others) and you, Buzz, Joe, and everyone that keep the game fresh with repaints!

!*brav*! !*brav*! !*brav*! and *!!thnx!!*
