Hi,

Over the past weeks, dozens of new repaints have been uploaded here, many of them by Mike Calvin, but a lot also by Harry Adkins, Michael Zimmer, Soren Lerma, Bill Platt and others!

For this I just wanted to say THANK YOU!


Your repaints are much appreciated additions to the RW roster. And to make it even better, at least for me, most of the new engines and cars are of fallen flags or first/second-generation diesel era equipment!

For me a good sign that Railworks is growing and is about to take the leadership in the sector.
More and more people come to RWA and RS.com's Facebookpage is showing the success, too.
Also many people from the whole train related community tell me that they have an eye on Railworks and are to switch to Railworks (e.g. from Trainz).

So a very good development. Thank you for the repaints and keep them coming.

According to last months stats, most of the new traffic coming to RWA is from the Community page at railsimulator.com, followed by railserve.com, then the Steam forums.
Traffic coming from Facebook is way down the list. It's below traffic coming from TrainSim.com, UKTrainSim.com, rryard.com, GTrax, Golden Age, & AllAboardRails.
Heck, there's even more traffic coming to RWA from YouTube, railworks.cz (Czech site), and railsim.es (Spanish site) than from Facebook.

So far this months stats are pretty similar, except that traffic coming from Facebook is even further down the list.

I'm not complaining or anything, 'cause I really don't have any use for Facebook, but I am a bit surprised considering all the rant and raving that goes on about the RW Facebook site.

I just meant that there are more and more people and discussions on the FB page itself. I think the reason that there is so few people coming from there that they don't know about RWA.
I try to advertise for RWA anytime I can on FB.

Michael rules! Also, prepare for a purchase soon. I've been eyeing up that PRR passenger pack long enough I see it in my sleep now. I'm a huge sucker for any and all PRR material. With those, and Dick Cowens new steamer I purchased I might be able to finally repaint up a close(ish) representation of a Strasburg Railroad trainset.

Thanks Michael, I appreciate that. I found all the first/second gen models early on, and wondered why there weren't many skins/repaints for them. I did a lot of skinning for the SIMs, and did some HO model painting in my younger days and saw it as something I should try. I'm having an absolute ball!

If it wasn't for your Steam era rolling stock and Dick Cowen's steamers I would have no reason to run Railworks. Sorry guys, diesels aren't much fun, just boxes that move.

Don't Apologize! That's exactly why Model Railroading is popular, both solid and virtual. You can do what you wish with your world. I'm 65 years old, and lived through the Steam-Diesel transition era. I guess in a way, I'm re-creating my childhood memories.

This is a great forum and I find myself in good company here. When I was growing up near the shipyards in Brunswick, GA during the war, I can vividly remember stopping at a grade crossing and watching a throughly worn out old steamer wheeze and clank by pulling only a bobber caboose. I couldn't have been over five years old but I never forgot it. I've been a steam nut ever since. Thankyou Hawk, Michael Stephan, and Dick Cowen for your contributions to my magnificent obsession.

Yes you do deserve thanks, for making rules to keep this place civil and enforcing them by whatever means necessary. For keeping it free, and letting us donate what we can afford. And for amazingly fast downloads and for putting our uploads online extremely quick.
