Digi-Rails

Unread postby LandN » Thu Nov 14, 2013 11:30 am

I don't know for sure where to post this, so I'll start with this one and if it needs to be moved Bob can do it. I am trying to log in to Digi-Rails and have not been able to do so. Evidently I was registered with them a long time ago but have forgotten both my user name and password. I can not recover or change my password without knowing what my old user name was. All it will tell me is that I had an account with my eMail address and the deadend stops there. Any help would be appreciated.

it appears that the password area is locked, not allowing any one to log in. At least that is what it is doing to me.

FWIW, I just got into DigiRails and I'm logged in. I usually allow cookies to keep me logged in automatically on non-secure websites, so I don't know if that has any effect. !*don-know!*

Turns out it was Kasperski causing the problem, preventing me from logging in. Now resolved.

Jay, I see two options. There is usually a link on the website's main page, says "contact us" or maybe "contact admin" where you can leave a message with details and they can get back to you. Or, set up another e mail for the Digi Rails site, like a G Mail address, and join with another (new) user name and that new e mail.

I have two e mails myself, one long time account for personal "stuff", and a G Mail account for other websites, purchases, etc. I had to set up the G Mail years ago as I was in the same bind with my personal e mail, but finally got that fixed up. (stupid lost password/ wrong user name/ that e mail already in use/ run around......... Grrrrrrrrrrrr.........yeah, I know)

Now I keep passwords/ user names on an old fashioned Rolodex so if my PC crashes I have a backup. !!*ok*!!

Ya' know, keeping your passwords on a Rolodex is a good idea. It can't be decrypted or stolen by computer hackers. It is there for your loved ones to retrieve vital information (health-life insurance, taxes, benefits) in case of your untimely demise. And if someone breaks into your house, they won't steal the Rodex because they won't even know what the hell the piece of old technology is for.

Yep, all the above. I was in the hospital back in 2007 for two weeks, close to death. Of course, no one knew of this on the Internet sites I used to frequent. It was like I disappeared. Then I told a friend that was visiting about the Rolodex and he got word out to all my other friends, and my parents and family. (then I was getting e mails to the hospital daily from all my friends. Their IT department said they never seen anything like it). Didn't have any kind of laptop or even a cell phone for a while. It's scary being out of touch.
