Where have my particles gone?

Alright guys,

It seemed as if my particle setting were toned down to a pretty basic level, the particles are very blocky on some trains. I then wanted to go in my setting and up the particle detail level. For some reason I cannot find the slider to change it, has RSC taken that option away from us?

EDIT: The blocky issue is seeming to only effect the SD45s from DTM. I really don't know if this is a bug or this is just how it is suppose to be.
