RSC doesn't know its own DLC

Ever since I started submitting scenarios to Steam Workshop, I have been trying to discover which rolling stock items come with the latest versions of Train Simulator and from specific DLC packages, primarily in an effort to prevent having scenarios rejected because they contain non-RSC rolling stock. Several attempts to contact support@Railsimulator.com have produced only vague responses, but I recently tried again, anyway. My question in this case regarded the content of the European Community Asset Pack. After the usual boilerplate first response, I received a second message, containing this helpful information:

Examples of the assets included in this pack are:
¦HST, Class 55 Deltic, Class 37, Class 47 and Class 166 locomotives
¦DB Class 101, Class 143, Class 151, Class 294, Class V200 and BR52 locomotives
¦Black 5 and 7F steam locomotives
¦Assorted passenger and freight wagons

My reply, asking whether they could be more specific than "Assorted passenger and freight wagons", brought this gem:

Unfortunately not, that is the only information I have about it, I can tell you that each item that is sold contains everything that is needed for that item.

The old asset packs are applicable to older items that were made for TS 2012.

As members of this forum know, I'm not one to habitually bash RSC, but not knowing the contents of their own DLC packages strikes me as ridiculous and incompetent.

By the way, I cannot track down this information because my TS installation dates back to the original version of this simulator, meaning that I do not have any DLC folder called "European Community Asset Pack".

Tom, I agree 100% that RSC should know the contents of their DLC packages.

Did you get the free updates to TS2012, then TS2013? RSC left out a bunch of stuff if you didn't buy the new version. I even bought TS2013 so I could get the routes that had become non- default routes, and still had to buy the US and Euro Community Assets packs. Also had to buy a few engines and locomotives I lost. Oh well, it is what it is. !*don-know!*

My install is pre TS2013
For what its worth when I log in to my steam account and ythe DLC window type in European Community Assets Pack it informs me that I already own that pack and the USA one and lists all of the items that are included in that pack including the euphemistic "Assorted passenger and freight wagons".
So in my case they were upgraded when TS2013 was installed.
I guess to find out what was included in the "Assorted etc" you would need to go back into RWA archives for TS2012 or even the UKTS ones which may be quite time consuming and not worth it?
Hope you find a solution.

Thanks for your hopes, Peter ... they just got dashed, however. Today, I received another reply from RSC, clearly indicating, whilst trying to cover it up, that they haven't a clue about the contents of the European Community Assets Pack. Or, perhaps, that they just don't care at all. The snit that wrote this latest message called my request "unnecessary". So helpful!

Chris, by any chance, did the US and European assets packs come with users' manuals identifying their contents?

Good question, never really bothered to look for their manuals. I will give a look later on tonight.

EDIT: didn't find any manuals for the assets Packs in the Railworks> Manuals> EN folder. !*not-ok*! (forgot you don't have to run RW to read the books, LOL)

I wonder if RW Tools could suss out the contents?

I keep all the manuals on a separate drive and I found one from TS2012 or pre-TS2012 and from that I think that the assets you are after were for the following routes (names now changed - but it may help with RW-Tools search):
Oxford - Paddington
Bath Green to Templecombe
Newcastle to York
Hagen to Siegen
Seebergbahn
Castle Rock
Hedborough
Barstow to San Bernandino.

Those assets would have been used in the above original routes before being collated into the European assets pack.
Not sure if that helps?
The other guy who might know is LoneWolfDon from Canada but I haven't seen any posts from him lately.
