Hi guys

all my Ohio Steel / Ohio Steel 2 tracks have disappeared! Any ideas how I can fix this without verifying my cache?

As has my 3dtrains content.

John, if it's the 3D Trains freeware, just log into the website and download it again. If it was the high rez payware stuff, send Marc an e mail (or PM him here AKA Hack) and he'll set you up to download it again. Ohio Steel 1 & 2 both use Scale Rail.

It's OK, I have the installation files backed up so that's no problem - only thing is, my lovely Santa Fe F7s (bought from Steam) have disappeared completely.

Before trying a verify, have you cleared the blueprint cache? Sometimes just shutting down TS2013 then doing a cold start on your PC (total shutdown then reboot) can fix issues like this.

Chris, the 3DTrains folder's completely empty - I don't think clearing the cache will help that.

How did those files all disappear? Did Steam delete them, do you think?

No, I can't see Steam doing that on an individual basis. I'll check and maye sure my 3D assets are still here but I'm sure they are. And I don't see anyone else talking about their 3D stuff gone missing. It's used a lot in third party routes so someone would also be squealing!

If you do decide to do a verify and have third party mods installed, back them up first. did you try and restart the PC yet?

To be honest, Steam has deleted a fair mount of content accidentally - and reinstated it after support has been contacted.

The route mentioned above has its own folder with a separate copy of ScaleRail, so you'll need to contact Valve to see what might be wrong. You didn't, by chance, purchase the route under a different user name?

Yeah I've lost a few things as well. Version 1 Big Boy and Challenger, and two of All Aboard's original routes. Strange how it randomly happens.

I agree, try the easy stuff first. Then verify. If all else fails, time to reinstall. Not fun at all.

Can I ask anyone who has Ohio Steel purchased through Steam to have a look and see if it's working properly? Thanks!

I somehow "lost" my original Ohio Steel a while back, but it was bought direct from All Aboard. Ohio Steel 2 is fine. (I also lost Fort Kent to Eagle Lake, bought from All Aboard as well)

Okay, so I lost my 3dtrains folder and all my scenario ticks. Just discovered my allaboard folder has gone missing too. Fortunately I have a cloud backup (and of the ATSF F7) so I had no trouble restoring the files. Problem is, how did this happen?

UPDATE: Comparing my assets folder with my cloud backup it would appear that approximately half my assets folders have been deleted totally. Now I sure as hell haven't done this and no-one else has access to my computer.

Please, folks - check you've got everything you've paid for!
