Are you working with a zip file or a rwp file?

It might help to know the exact repaints you are trying to install as well. Some of them have instructions that are a little vague, because the they assume a certain degree of PC and RW knowledge.
If you tell us what repaints you're using, someone with specific knowledge might know a trick to install that particular repaint.

Thanks for the replies guys. First one I tried was the CSX BC Dirty Dash 9. It downloads as a ZIP file. Second one was the CSX YN3 D9 which I think was also a ZIP file.

Usually the repaints are applied to Payware Engines and Rolling Stock or maybe Shareware if you are lucky. And it is absolutely necessary that you own and have installed that Engine or Rolling Stock of the repaint already into your assets folder.

I usually unpack the repaint.ZIP or repaint.RAR or repaint.7z file into a TEMP directory where I came peruse the Load of Files included. There most likely is a ReadMe.txt or ReadMe.doc or ReadMe.pdf file in the Load of Files. If the Developer is worth his credentials, he gives you a particular set of instructions in the ReadMe how to install the files to the proper asset folder.

If the installer files in the Load of Files are .RWP formatted then you use the "Utilities.exe" application found bundled with TS2013 in the RailWorks main directory to install it. Wnen you run the Utilities App you select the Package Manager tab then click the Install button. The Load Package window pops up. You then navigate to the TEMP directory where you placed the Load of Files and select the .RWP file to open. The rest is automatic.

If the installer files in the Load of Files has a RW_AssetSetup.exe file included, you will find a Railworks directory as well. If you explore the Railworks directory, you find the Path structure of the assets as they will actually be copied into the Railworks\assets folder. Run the RW_AssetSetup.exe and the repaint files will be automatically installed from the TEMP directory.

Then, there is also the manual way of installing the repaint into the assets directory. But that takes a special knowledge of the Railworks\assets directory structure to be successful.

Finally, and this is the most important step, if you want to see your new repaint in the game...There is a copyrighted file that is part of the Developer's Design for the Engine or for the Rolling Stock that is included only in the original Payware asset - that being the .GEOPCDX formatted file. Each and every one of these .GEOPCDX design files must be copied from the original asset folders into the repaint asset folders. The ReadMe file should give you exact instructions from where and to where the copy and paste needs to be completed.

I hope that answers your installer questions...

Thanks OlPaint! Next problem, Ive followed your steps, the Utilities app put it in all the correct folders etc. Copied over all the .GEOPCDX files as stated in the readme file. But it still doesnt show up in game. Any clues as to why this is?

Do a "Clear Cache" to allow Railworks to rebuild the BluePrints.pak files. The old BluePrints may be blocking the new repaints.
