Marias Pass Quick Drive: Getting stuck at Restricted signals?

Unread postby Matt93eg » Fri Jul 05, 2013 8:44 pm

I was going to do a Quick Drive run from Kalispell Yard to Essex. I left Kalispell with 60 Mixed freight cars and all was good until I got to MP-1212. I came up on the Columbia Falls Wye Lead and had a Restricted signal to diverge onto Main 1. After looking at the 2D map, there were no other trains anywhere at all. Pressing TAB got me a Decline to pass the Restricted signal. Had to stop the came because I never could get a Clear to Diverge onto Main 1.

Am I missing something or is this just a glitch. Both signals for Main 1 and Main 2 were GREEN over RED indicating a clear block ahead but no A.I traffic was visible anywhere. This was my first time trying a Quick Drive...seems I didn't get very far. *!sad!*

Any help would be appreciated.

Matt.

Did you make sure that your switches were line for the route that you were going on. If so then the restricted signal you seen was probably one meaning come to a complete stop at signal then proceed at restricted speed

All signals at crossovers are absolute and can only be over ridden by the dispatcher (pressing TAB). I would say there was a switch somewhere set incorrectly or the signal links are incorrect with both being easy fixes.
