Blinking Red Signal?

What is a blinking red signal supposed to indicate? It is "guarding" a single switch. If I change the switches direction the signal goes to solid red. I have the links in their own ribbons and not in a ribbon that is part of a switch.

Depends on the country sir. In the USA, it may also depend on the era and railroad company it also depends on the type of signal light. A blinking dwarf light means you may proceed, solid red dwarf light means stop. If it is a blinking red light under a another red light, I believe it means you will diverge onto an different track. Best thing to do is look at the manuals located in the steam folder under manuals, you will need to select your appropriate language for the best answer.

Blinking red means you can proceed at a restricted speed, usually 15 mph. If your using a good set of signals you can make the speed whatever you like.

On North American routes, a flashing red means proceed without stopping at restricted speed. To put it simply restricted speed means you have to be able to stop within one half the range of vision but not exceeding 15mph and if you hit anything your fired. LOL

A flashing yellow means proceed prepared to stop at the second signal and immediately reduce to 40mph. A yellow means proceed prepared to stop at the next signal and immediately reduce to 30mph.

Ok, there is a solid red (auto-switch against route) a short distance ahead. The blinker then makes sense. Unfortunately, in this route, there are some automatic switches. Is there a way to make them manual switching (lever)?

Sure by pressing G in front of you and Shift + G behind you. Those will throw those switches manually. It works with Free Roam only.

G and SHIFT G work in standard scenarios on manual switches for me. But not on auto switches.
