Cache

For some reason, I have to clear the cache before I start a scenario or go into the editor. I have to keep restarting the game to clear the cache or when I go to play a scenario, the game will look like it's loading but it's really not. Does anyone know what the problem is?

When you clear the in-game cache (in effect delete blueprints.pak files in the Assets folder) TS2013 throws up an erroneous error and won't re-start - just ignore the error and re-start TS 2013 normally. RSC are aware of the issue but haven't fixed it yet!

Railfan - you might want to try Doc (Machinist) Lisboa's "2-Clickz" reinstall scheme given here:

http://railworksamerica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5383&hilit=clickz

Part of the download includes a file called "clear cache.bat". If you use nothing else from this package, put a shortcut to the batch file on your desktop. You can then clear cache any time, whether you're in-game or not. I use it every time I go into the editor, and I don't have to exit the game to do it.

A most useful utility. !!*ok*!!

Hope you find this helpful.

Best,
Marc

I have hesitated to add the bat because when the sim is running in full screen there is no way to get back to desktop with out quitting the RW program. Can you tell me how to use the program in windowed maner and expanded to maximum window size?

Hi, Dave. You can access it from full-screen mode by using <alt>+<tab> to get back to the desktop, then double-click the batch file's icon and let it run, then you need to click the TS2013 icon on the task bar at the bottom of the screen. You can't <alt>+<tab> back INTO TS2013. A minor inconvenience.

Please let me know if this works for you.

Best,
Marc

I have another problem. Now when I use the CLEAR cache.bat, I get a "The system cannot find the path specified," message.

Did you make sure the path in the bat file is the same path to your railworks folder?
