Getting very annoyed...

Unread postby 5292nate » Sat May 11, 2013 5:17 pm

EVERYTHING I do gets me an SBHH. I am working on a fictional route in my spare time. I go to place a P42DC in the game, clicking on it to drive, gives me an SBHH. I cleared the cache, tried again... SBHH. Re-started the computer and tried again. SBHH. I placed a Dash 9 instead, and got yet another SBHH. What went wrong? !*don-know!* How can I re-install without losing ALL the sound changes I made? This is VERY frustrating. Can someone PLEASE help me with this? !*hp*! !*hp*! !*hp*!

Try running it in debug mode, and windowed, with logmate running in the background. When the SBHH happens, if you're lucky, you'll see the reason for it (or a clue at least) in the logmate window.

Go to your Train Simulator 2013 in the Steam Library, right-click on it, in the drop down menu, click on Properties (at the bottom of the menu), then click on SET LAUNCH OPTIONS and in the text box, write this:

-LogMate -SetLogFilters="All" -lua-debug-messages

In TS2013, set it to run in windowed mode, then quit back to the desktop.

Execute logmate (it's in the railworks root folder), and then run TS2103 from the Steam Library (not from any shortcut you have on the desktop).

You'll see lots of messages appearing while TS2013 starts, and especially when it loads a scenario. There'll be lots of warnings and even some error messages. Just look at the ones that appear immediately before the SBHH.

Couple of things that helped me reduce the amount of sbhh when creating a scenario. ( I still get them though from time to time )

1. How big is your kuju folder? If it has alot of goodies, move the folder to a safe place.
2.Then install a vanilla kuju folder, now try to place a default RW engine on the same spot or make the exact same scenario using only default RW engines.

Did it work?

Oh, and like Buzz said, try the Bob Latimers tutorial.

Did not know this. Will come in handy next time my scenario creation goes sbhh. Thanks

It doesn't work on some computers. I've got a laptop and a desktop, both run Windows 7 64-bit Home Edition. On the desktop it works, on the laptop it does absolutely nothing. No idea why.

I didn't try any of these suggestions yet. But, for some reason, today it works! !*don-know!*
