I just purchased the new 2-8-0 locomotive on Steam and it seemed to download fine, but it doesn't show up in the game. I've looked through all my asset folders and I can't find it. I verified my game cache and it said one file was re downloaded, but I still can't find the new addon. I looked at my list of DLC on Steam and it is listed there.

In your Asset folder is there a folder named Smokebox?

You Must have the Horseshoe Curve Route DLC (available from Steam) for the Consolidation to show up. There are both Standard and Free Roam Scenarios available as well as Quick Drive options.

I thought not having the route would just make the scenarios unusable, but the locomotive would still show up in the editor. I make my own scenarios on my route.

Nope, no Smokebox.

I wasn't aware that the HSC route was necessary for the loco to show up in the editor. Can you please send an email to support@railsimulator.com. I'll take it up with RSC myself at the same time.

Is this a recent change? I have a smokebox folder and have run the Connie without checking HSC for my route.

It's nothing that I've done anyway ... I'm still waiting for RSC to upload the patch I sent them a month ago.

There's something strange going on with Steam. I've just this minute gone to the Workshop and ticked the "AT&N Consolidation" box. Instead of seeing the four scenarios that I know are there, there's a message saying "No items matching your search criteria were found."!!!!

EDIT: I've sent an email to Matt at RSC explaining the symptoms. I hope something gets done about it quickly.

I got a standard reply from support. As usual, they suggest clearing the blueprint cache and re-verifying the cache:


To clear the Blueprint cache please follow these steps:
Open Train Simulator 2013 to the Main Menu
Click on Game Settings
Click on the Tools
Click Clear Cache
Once complete please re-check Train Simulator 2013 to see if your problem persists.

"re-check" means verify the integrity of the game files, so that Steam will attempt to redownload and reinstall any missing files. Might be worth a try.

Just this minute, there's been an update to the Steam Client. It might make a difference. Worth a try.

I just purchased the 'Connie' today through Steam and it shows up in my collection, but when I try to select it, nothing happens. There are is no smokebox folder either. I cleared the cache and verified integrity 4 times since, and nothing... what gives? Did I just make a donation?

Nothing I've done is helping. I've contacted Steam and have heard nothing from them. I think I may have just thrown away 20 dollars.

Me too... The 'Connie' shows up in my collection, but selecting it does nothing. No Smokebox folder either. Steam support told me to completely delete TS and redownload. Yeah, I don't really feel like doing that yet...
