"Toil and Trouble" Trouble

Unread postby MontanaRails » Sun Apr 21, 2013 7:26 pm

After assemblying my train and a few minutes out of the yard, my screen freezes up just past MP1173 (screenshot) in the scenario "Toil and Trouble"...anyone else getting this issue? I've tried it from a saved point in time and tried re-doing the scenario from the beginning. I dont get a SBHH or anything...the screen just freezes, and its time for a Ctrl-Alt-Del to kill the program.

Someone may offer a better solution, but in the meantime, go into steam, right click on TS2013, select properties, and verify cache. Another approach is to use RWTools to check the route and scenario for missing assets.

Hi gwgardner,

Thanks for the advice, but its definitely a scenario related issue (and not missing assets). I can run through the area on a free roam/quick drive without issues. I'm investigating with RWTools...so far all looks good.

I have run this with no issues. Except the first time I left half of the train in the yard. Second time was completed with no issues. A verify may help as after I downloaded the first time the entire route was updated by steam automaticaly.

I started this scenario again and drove as time-efficiently as possible (with some real world mechanical damage having been quite likely) and now it works! Strange.

Never can understand how inconsistent this sim can be. But it sure is nice when it works!
