C&O dome and baggage re-paints (C&O Alleghany)

Downloaded RSC's Challenger pack. And followed Ronalds instructions but still cannot see or place a re-painted dome or baggage car. The UPRR ones do work ok, just not the C&O re-paints. I tried the scenarios that call for them but it always says they are missing although the files do appear to be in the correct folders. RSC and IHH are both checked in the right hand fly out. help please.

Here we go again...

The UP Baggage and Dome cars were part of the IHH Challenge Pack/DLC that was available on Steam until the release of TS2013. It is no longer available from either Steam or IHH. The C&O Baggage and Dome Cars need the shape files from the IHH Challenger Pack which is no longer available. The RSC Challenger pack does NOT have these cars included with it. The UP Cars you have are probably the ones from the GTRAX Lightweight Pack and will NOT work with the C&O Cars.

There is NO LEGAL way for you to obtain the IHH Dome and Baggage cars, since they are part of a Payware DLC Pak, anyone who provides them to you violates the EULA.

I have the UP dome and baggage cars. They work just fine. They are located within the assets\RSC\ChallengerPack01\RailVehicles\Passenger folder as \Baggage Car and \Dome Car.

Just need a modified re-paint procedure to repaint those cars as the included instructions point to the IHH folder rather than the RSC one. Simple deal I would think. But it does not work.

Need help from someone that has actually repainted the current RSC UP baggage and dome cars. Thank you.

My error, evidently the cars Do come with the RSC Challenger Pak . I should checked further. Mu apologies.

I have attached a screenshot... Just transfer the .GeoPcDx for the baggage car in the top right pane to the location indicated in the bottom right pane. find the dome car and do the same. That should do it, No need to repaint

Hope this helps

It does on my system/installation... I just renamed/backup-ed the GeoPcDx files in the IHH folder and copied the files from the RSC Challenger folder to the corresponding IHH folder as per the above screenshot and it worked perfectly.

Also: be certain to clear the Blueprint cache after copying the files!!

I wonder if anyone is going to complain about copying those files to the IHH folder? I could make the installation's batch file copy all the files, but.... mmmm... I worry. !**conf**!

You should worry, but we as users had to own both of them for us to do that and there is certainly nothing wrong with someone telling us how to use OUR files.

RW_AssetSetup.exe (for the COBaggageDome Pak) will create the necessary IHH Folder Tree for the Pack if one does not exist and install all files necessary files for the C&O Baggage and Dome Cars except for the GeoPcDx shape files. If one has the IHH Challenger Pak it will also copy the shape files from the UP cars Folders to the C&O Folders. I don't see any problem if one has/owns the RSC Challenger Pak to copy the shape files from its UP cars to the IHH C&O Folders.

Maybe Tory means that people will complain about having to copy the files by hand. Hence the batch file.
It is indeed possible to include a batch file that will be installed by RW_AssetSetup.exe, then the user could runthe batch file instead of copying the files by hand.

Almost all of our repaints require manually copying files. If people are whining about this they need to find another game to play.

Actually I never heard anyone complain. I'm just speculating here.

No, I was referring to a possible complaint by the respective developers, RSC or IHH.

It doesn't matter; we were able to copy all the files to the proper locations, but what we get is a "blue-blob" which causes an SBHH. It appears to me that RSC changed the model/texture mapping. !*don-know!*

Its possible that its now DXT5 instead of the older DXT3 DDS format.

According to bwfer above it works for him. Perhaps you should be asking why it doesn't work for you if it works for him.
