Quicklists/Picklists not saving

Unread postby Toripony » Tue Feb 05, 2013 4:15 pm

I am fixing up my "workbench" and yesterday I spent some time fixing up my asset item quicklists (custom picklists) with many fav items but today the lists are empty. Does anyone have an idea what happened? Any idea where these lists get saved/stored?

workbench = TS editing environment. Since I spend all my time route editing I completely customize my "environment", in particular, the asset lists. I hate wasting minutes scrolling through long lists of stuff I never use. After hours of deleting all TS components unrelated to the COA, I used the quicklists to put trees and bushes in the green tab, grasses and flowers in the red tab, and some water and misc items in the blue tab. This morning I fired up the rig to edit and all my tabs are empty. *!sad!*

My experience is that sometimes those lists retain items for more than one session, but mostly they don't. Items usually are retained as long as TS is open, but once shut down it's more likely to forget them than not. When this feature first appeared, I really liked it ... then I found out how limited it is and I haven't used it since then.

If you can find in which file this information goes, then it may be possible to design a work-around.

!*don-know!* That's worthless! Now I know why I couldn't find many posts about this "feature".

Confirmed that this is true; temporary holding space only. For now. It may be a bug. Hopefully it's a fixable one.

All I can say is BACKUPS! I do them daily to a second hard drive. If you have a laptop, get an external USB drive. Acronis free version will let you do incremental backups. Not sure how well RW backups work. !*don-know!* I see lots of complaints.

I dont use the lists either due to their not being saved. Bummer as it would be nice if they saved.

Tori: it's especially useless, since the editor tends to blow itself away into an SBHH in the middle of editing sessions.
