DB Freight: 1970s Add-On:
Has anyone bought this add-on? I see in the pictures it has the DD40X, was wondering if it is really in the package. I have been looking to buy the DD40X for along time.Need to be sure it is really in it.

I'm not sure where you saw the pics with the DD40X in it. I have the DLC. It's okay. I got it on sale because I love freight operations and thought it would get me to drive the Euro routes that I always ignore. I haven't driven all of the scenarios in it yet. Those routes are showing their age. Too much other nice stuff to run.

Thanks for the reply Griphos, here is the link at Steam. http://store.steampowered.com/app/65249 I asked LordMannu if he would please update it for Train Simulator 2013, and he said he would start the work. Made me happier then a kid in a candy store! I want the DD40X pretty bad LOL

Well, that's strange! I don't remember that picture in the batch from before. A snafu at Steam, likely.

There's only a small little problem with this add-on... it will not work with TS 2013 without the Seebergbahn Route inherited from TS 2012. BTW, this route is no longer in the DLC so there's no way to get the missing items. Right now I can only use 4 out of the 9 expected locos of the add-on; the BR323 and the 4 versions of the BR151 (which are the reason why I purchased it) are vacant!
Not much of an ethical attitude from Steam who did not warn anyone about this, advertising the add-on as perfectly playable with just TS 2013.

But, it does state at the bottom of the add-on package -

6 scenarios (3 on Hagen-Siegen and 3 on Seebergbahn)

So, if you don't have the Seebergbahn layout then you won't be able to play the scenarios, that's not an un-ethical attitude from Steam, more like the end-user not reading the small print carefully enough. If the Seebergbahn route isn't available to purchase at the moment (which is an entirely different debate altogether) then, why buy the scenario pack??

Yes it's my fault... I thought the word "includes" in English meant what is included in the package and not what's required to run it.

I think it's safe to say that the DD40X picture is a mistake, unless DB started used it in the 1970s in secret *!greengrin!*
I doubt you could use this loco in Europe: it is long enough to have its ends in different countries.
Als, as usual the DLC includes scenarios but not the routes for those scenarios.
