Repainting problems

Unread postby 5292nate » Sun Feb 03, 2013 12:08 pm

Got an issue. I was trying to re-skin a 40ft container from the mega pack @ Trainsim.com Copied the bin. and renamed it. Also, I copied the GEOPCDX file and the texture files. I then repainted the texture file. After I finished the repaint, I loaded it into the game, and then nothing, but a block with missing textures. Any help? Is repainting a scenery object, different than a rolling stock item?

Really need help here.

Thanks

I would guesss the bin file you copied is looking for the textures in the folders that you copied them from and you have your repaint in a new folder. So you will have to edit the BIN file to point to your new folder.

No. The repaints are in the same folder as the originals I copied it from.

To Buzz. I did change the name to something new. I do know how to convert it to an XML. That's how I edited it.

You run the bin file with serz and that will make a xml. The you open it in notepad so you can edit it. After you do that you need to run the xml file over serz (I keep it on my desk top) and that will change the bin file.

Sorry I didn't read your post right. Did you remember to run it to change the bin file after? That's the step I always forget. Another thing is to make sure you changed it everywhere you need to.

Yeah. I changed the bin back. Why don't you try it? See if it comes out differently. It's in the file library under RS rolling stock, 8th page, near the bottom. http://www.trainsim.com/vbts/tslib.php? ... 946&page=8

Just so I know I'm messing with the right one, we are talking the us-cont2.zip right?

Right. I was copying the Cont_40ft_001 bin. It's kinda hard to find. Took me a bit. The containers are in Kuju\RailSimulator\RailNetwork\Interactive

I'm sure glad you told me where these things were. Do you mean the Conti_40ft-48ft_01 ?
