Changing the weather - not using scenario edit?

Hi all -

Anyone know if there is a way to change weather, season, etc. without having to go into the world editor and then to scenario edit mode....like a shortcut or console command? It appears to me that you can make those changes only once, when you first go into the edit mode to add/change locos or moving stock.

Also, does anyone know of any Dash 9 repaints that have snow textures painted on them?

Would appreciate any help on either question.

Thanks!

Unless I am mistaken I believe you can change the weather using RW Tools. Instead of going to the world editor then scenario editor, you could go right to Scenario Editor from the main menu.

No mistake Bob, you're absolutely spot on, RW Tools also gives you the opportunity to not only change the weather, but, also the season that you want to set your scenario to and the time of day/night and the day/month/year.

In answer to the OP's second question, I don't know of any American locomotives that have snow textures applied directly to the exterior model, there are a couple of British locomotives that have been reskinned to show that effect, but, nothing for you American folk as yet.

Do they really, well, that's shut me up then....... !*roll-laugh*!
Well spotted Dan, in my defence, I haven't played on Donner Pass in a winter scenario since Christmas, so, I didn't know they had snow on the locomotives.

Donner definately has snow on the engines, I think Sherman Hill might also, but don't quote me on that. I don't run British stuff so can't comment on that. *!!wink!!*

If I want to change the weather in a given route or scenario, I just use the built in editor. Yes, it will reset to default when next you start RW. I've never used RW Tools to change weather, so also can't comment on that. !*don-know!*
