Issues with Justin Cornell's GP38-2's

Unread postby GuilfordRailSD45 » Sun Jan 27, 2013 12:32 pm

Hello,

I am back again with yet another problem! *!embar*!

Last night, I installed Justin Cornell's BNSF and Southern GP38-2's. When I try to add them to a consist in the scenario editor, their names appear on the locomotive list, but when I click on them, they do not load/ show up on the track. I have no such problems with other locomotives.

Also, after installing the GP38-2's, the default SD40-2 and GEVO (I haven't tried the F7) now emit a thick, black, pixelated smoke. After doing some searching in the "Particles" sections of my assets/kuju/railsimulator and assets/kuju/railsimulatorUS folders, it appears that the following files were modified after the installation:

Engine_DieselExhaust02.bin
Engine_DieselExhaust02 (XML Document)
ParticleGizmo.GeoPcDx
TestSmoke.TgPcDx

and within the particles/textures folder:

Gizmo_noaplha.TgPcDx

I was wondering how I might go about fixing these two problems... One thing that I have learned for sure is to make back-ups before installing new things.

Thanks in advance for any help - sorry that I'm only ever asking for help around here. I hope to be able to start doing some repaints/ screenshot posting in the near future!

Did you install the 'dependencies' folder for the GP38?

Yes, I did. I'm looking at the package mananger in utilities; there are a few locomotives that have been installed, and when I click on them, an "assets" tab appears in the "tree view" in black. However, when I click on the GP38-2's, the "assets" appears in red (the GP38 dependencies file is in black). Could this suggest something?

Also, in my main Railworks/Assets folder, there is a confusing number of sub-folders... The first screenshot shows the main Railworks/Assets folder, and the second screenshot shows the Railworks/Assets/Kuju folder. In the first screenshot, in the "RSC" folder are the CN repaints that came with the Fort Kent route; those do not show up in the game either.

Sorry if I am just causing more confusion; I am just trying to post whatever potentially helpful hints I can.

Let's do this one at a time. Did you activate the JCornell EMD folder with the check mark? If you did when go to the asset folder open the JCornell folder. You should see EMD and a Readme folder. In the EMD folder you should see audio, particles,RailVehicles, and System. In the railvehicles you should see diesel. open that and you should see GP38-2. Inside that should be your BNSF folder. Inside that needs to be the GP38-2.GeoPcDx file if it isn't there your loco will not show up in game.
Lemmie know if all that is done and there.

There is no Readme file, and there is NOT a GeoPcDx file - even after a re-install of the geep.

*edit: forgot to insert a very key word
