GP9 DLC Payware from steam issue

Unread postby Enzo1 » Sat Dec 22, 2012 6:01 pm

Hi,
I am very new to Train Simulator 2013, and I just got the CN SD40-2W, GP9 and SD70ACe add on packs from steam,
I am currently having issues finding the the SD40-2W and its rolling stock, and the GP9's in the game... I looked in scenario editor and I cant seem to find them there, and had no luck.. A friend then told me to check all categories, but I am not sure where this is either... Is there something I am doing wrong?
Also, how do I use the SD70ACe in anything but the free roam and scenarios included with it?

Any help is appreciated greatly!
Thanks

I'm on my ph so can't post screenshots but I'll describe it... when you are in scenario editor, click on the locomotives button so you have the list of loco's on your left. Click on the little orange triangle pointing right. You should see a menu pop out on the right side of your screen. That's the list of developers that you can activate. Scroll through the list 'till you find RSC, and in their sublist you'll see the loco's you want to activate (hopefully! Some people have been reporting issues with those loco's). Tick one of the boxes (can't remember which one). You'll know you got it when the loco's show up in the list on the left.

Thanks, this means they are not in the game at all... As I see no areas where they appear............ Again thanks, looks like you can add me to the list of people that are not seeing them!

I just had a look and mine don't show up either. Had a look around and found that a few people have had mixed results getting Steam to download the missing or corrupt files but I wouldn't recommend it to a novice. You could try verifying your cache, which has worked for a few people and is relatively safe especially if you haven't made any mods yet. To do this:

* Open Steam
* From the drop down "Games" at the top click on "View Games Library"
*Right-click on "Trainsimulator2013" on the left side and chose "Properties"
*Under "Local files" you will see "Verify game cache".

All this does is check if you have any missing files and downloads them. It's handy for fixing alot of problems people have been having lately. For some reason RSC must be having issues with having the right parts of their content delivered via Steam.

This wont necessarily fix your problem, because it may detect that you already have the files. You can force Steam to download them anyway, without it downloading the whole game but it gets technical. Depends on how computer literate you are. Let me know if verifying the cache doesn't work and you want to have a crack at the more technical solution.
