RW Tools

Unread postby AaronB » Sat Dec 22, 2012 11:16 am

Is there some place other than UKTrains to get RW Tools? The developer's link does not work, and UKTrains is the only place I've found it. I registered there to download the package, but each time I try to download, I'm stacked up behind many, many other people getting downoloads.

Thanks.

This site seems to be up and running: http://www.rstools.info/

UKTS wants a "donation" so you can get ahead of any que. It's great if you want any of their routes, and there are really some great ones.

Sorry about the problem with my web site. The full version of RW_Tools was showing up at the web site as a Trojan in their anti-virus program and it was being dumped to a quarentine folder and I was being locked out.

I checked the zip with 3 AV programs and there was nothing wrong with it, but for the time being it will not be available on my site.

So for the time being, RW_Tools updates are still available from my site.

For users without the program, the Full package can be downloaded from uktrainsim.com or trainsim.com - The one on trainsim.com does NOT include the help file but that is available on my own site at http://www.rstools.info/help.html

Er, Mike, your website is actually http://www.rstools.info.
*!greengrin!*

Also, my own AV program (bitdefender) flags the site as dangerous.
I'd say either you have a string of characters in there that triggers a false positive, or your site has been put on a blacklist because of a false positive, or your site is really infected.

I have fixed the URL to the site, so that is fine.

I don't know why any AV program would list a site as infected? I have never seen that happen, and no one else has ever reported such a thing.

The file in question that was giving a false positive never got uploaded to the site, so that is not the reason.

As for blacklists, Comcast have actually put one of my email providers on its blacklist for spam, and although they are one of the biggest ISPs in this area, they have been unable to get it listed. These blacklists are completely stupid as it means that the ISPs customers have to set up extra email addresses just to send to Comcast customers.
