Why are the physics so bad still?

Unread postby Howndog » Sat Dec 01, 2012 12:42 am

Just got Fraser Caribou.

This one touches a nerve. I grew up and know the area.

Something makes me want to see what they saw. CN 9606.

I try and coast but the train keeps slowing even on the 2.2% with no brakes! I boot the only lumber car and then the train accelerates to 70mph (from 20).

????

Yeah the physics are annoying but can be made more realistic with the help of rwtools by adjusting a few things. Adjusting the wagon weights and fitting britkits buckeyes makes a big difference to the feel of the train. I think brake settings can be adjusted too but I've not had a play with that yet.
I'll try and remember when I get back on my computer later and put a link to a great site I found that has a list of most modern wagon loaded and unloaded weights. Also if you do a search there is plenty of good info on here on physics.
Frontrunner in the file library now!
