P42 Emergency Brake

I don't know if it is the scenario I'm creating, or something else.
I am driving a P42 on the NEC, and all of a sudden the alerter starts sounding. I am under the speed limit, and the signal is green, which is indicated on the track signals as well as the in cab signal. Then, the train automatically goes into emergency. Once I stop and get going again, as soon as I hit 20.0mph I go back into emergency again. I can't figure out what set off the alerter, or why I keep going into emergency.
If anyone could help I would be real happy.

Thanks.

Did you make sure to reset the alerter? It's supposed to go off after you don't touch the controls after a while. Make sure to press the 'Q' key to reset it when you hear the alarm, otherwise it will go into a penalty application. Hope this helps.

Like donjgatlin says if you don't touch the controls for 90 seconds the alarter will sound and the emergency brake will apply if you don't cancel it. It's a pain if you do most of your running from external views.
You can go to gtrax's website and they show you a fix so that you can run for hours. It just changes the alerter time from 90 seconds to what ever value you want. Gtrax recomends 9000 seconds as that's longer than most sceanareos.
'Edit'. The value can be changed with notepad

G-TraX, the people who made the P42, said you can disable the alerter . Here's the link http://www.gtraxsims.com/index.htm
Now go to G-TraX.com, roll over support , and click quick fixes for instructions.

for future reference, US alerters are also to keep the operator, well, alert. Every 2 minutes of travel it will go off regardless of speed or signal. Usually its an average of two minutes, when not moving any of the controls.
