Thankies to both of you. I did check the asset folder before even you suggested me to do, and the folder WAS infact there, just with a few files missing (such as cabview data etc). Anyway, I have now re-installed the entire game. Also, I run many other games on this PC, and I work with this PC, I never have any issues with any other application EXCEPT Railworks 4. This didn't happen in Railworks 3 either, it's happening only since the major core update has been released.
What I also meowticed was: When I verify the files, it takes less than a minute to pass through ... every single time. With 30+ GB of data in that folder, I barely can believe that. It took a lot longer some days ago. Or is that because I just reinstalled all the data? Should I try to play every single map and train cumbination first before retrying to verify the files?
PS: I just managed to get Railworks back to work after the reinstalling process. The SAME error message is appearing in the Free Roam scenario of Cajon Pass, just like before! The consist apparently is missing, even though I paid for it and there was a download taking place after buying the DLC. I think it won't make a change if I uninstall Steam and copy all files over and then back. That is because I did un- and reinstall Steam around 10 days ago, cumpletely. I will now run three more verifiers. Apparently the first verifier now takes a LOT longer than all the others before, so it might just catch the broken files after all. But maybe not.
