Portland Terminal problems.

Unread postby PaulSP » Sun Oct 28, 2012 12:28 am

Hello, I just started running Railworks again and I started out with my favorite route the Portland Terminal and I noticed a few graphical errors along my run...

Most of it being floating track, roads & sidewalks

(And a crossing gate sticking out of the ground)

And this weird "flat track" grapical error I noticed on a few switches

I don't seem to remember these problems in RW3 but maybe I just forgot...

Anyways, any idea?

There was something way back about video card settings that were causing these kind of problems. Let me see if I can find it or maybe somebody will jump in here that remembers.

I found it See if this your issue."Buzz: Do you by chance have an ATI card? I seem to recall that with RailWorks, sometimes for some routes and/or some models, parts of it would seem "invisible" or "missing", and verifying and clearing cache never fixed it for them. But, that going into the ATI control panel, then turn-off Adaptive Anti-Aliasing (AAA), would fix the problem. In your screen-shots you put up, it also looks like part of a loco there is partially "see-through" as well, and this reminded of the AAA problem that occurs sometimes with ATI cards."

This fixed my problem.

Keep in mind, also, that GTrax is reworking Portland as well as several locomotives, engines and rolling stock.

I have Portland Terminal and admit I haven't tried to run it since 2013. I'll try it tonight and report what I find.

I just ran the Portland Terminal route and have no visual abnormalities. I have had mine since 2012 and got the automatic 2013 update. Did you investigate your video card?

I do have a ATI card a "Radeon HD 5770" and I went to the ATI control panel now called "AMD vision engine control center" and it seems there is no disable button for Adaptive Anti-Aliasing (AAA) but I did click "Use application settings" and in the railworks options I do have Anti-Aliasing disabled but it made no differents.
