removing the interminable switching noise background

When I go into the scenario editor from the main menu, the background soundtrack of switching noises, including the bell, wheel squeak, motor rev, etc. plays over and over and over and over and over ... for as long as I'm editing.
How can I get rid of that background sound track?
(why the designers keep introducing these annoying features I can't fathom. Like the blast of noise at startup, with little black circle with track in it, and the sound of wheels rolling fast on the track - all these little features detract from a great sim/game)
Thanks for any help.

I make a good playlist on youtube of railroad music, then it's off to work on the railroad!

Kill this one!

to get rid of your problem:
....\railworks\Assets\Kuju\RailSimulatorCore\Audio\UI_FrontEndLoop.dav
I was also used to delete all *radio.dav files of \railworks folder and all its subfolders.
Cheers,
Doc.

More annoying than the soundtrack itself was my wife complaining about the soundtrack, especially the bells.

This problem has been around since earlier versions of RailWorks as far as I recall.
If you jump directly into the editor from within the Main Menu options, then you'll keep hearing the background front-end sound loop continuously playing (until you Play a scenario).
To work around this, first go to Play a scenario (for a route or scenario you want to edit). When it loads in, the front-end background sound loop should have automatically stopped playing. Then use your Escape key to bring up the pop-up Menu, and from there select to go into the World Editor. If instead wanting to edit that scenario, then simply click on the Scenario Tools icon (from within the World Editor), and you'll then be able to edit that scenario, and (hopefully) without that background sound loop playing anymore.

Thanks, LWD. That works like a charm.
