I don't know if I am having a seniors moment or what.Every time I load the utilities and try to use the asset editor I get a window comes up that says Train Simulator 2012 with a message to login in to steam. I login to steam and still get the same message.I just can not get the asset editor to come up.Anybody with any suggestions?
I did get an update today that is supposed to fix the blueprint editor.

Just tried it and I don't get anything. It just sits there. The packaging manager works so the whole thing isn't FUBAR.

Mine works as well, but I did change out the BlueprintEditor.exe with the older TS2012 version... though oddly enough it now says it was modified today. Hmmm. I will need to check this out later.

Does anybody that has the asset editor working get a message saying login to steam, also what screen resolution are you using.

PapaXpress, did you just replace the BlueprintEditor.exe with the one from 2012 or did you need to do anything else? I'm also getting the either login to steam message or if logged it, then it just sits...I'd like to work on getting my RailPower RP20B into the game, along with my bay window caboose and the BLE quad hopper I'm workng on in Blender. Really glad SMMdigital sent you his tutorials, really sad he's out. I too am still waiting on the EULA issue to be resolved, very scary.
Also, is there a way to keep my un-updated version of 2012 from getting updated, in other works how do you run two versions of RW on one machine?

I'm afraid RSC came out with a newer version of the editor. The updated one of the calls to their DLL so the older version don't work any more. It also seems like it is making the newer DXT5 textures (need confirmation).
I guess the good news is that it is working.

Unfortunately, for me it isn't working. I launch the utilities.exe file and the asset editor gives me either a login to steam message or while sitting at the startup screen in TS2013, the asset editor just sits there. The blueprint editor does open for me, but the Convert to geo.exe file crashes, when previewing anything. Anybody have suggestions?

Well... if you send me the files I can export them for you. Just don't expect a quick turn around.

Both the new and older pre-update versions work here.

That's strange. None of my older versions work. I'll post the error when I log on tonight.

Sorry, I should qualify that with the program loaded fine, but I didn't attempt to export.

Blueprint Editor works fine, but the Asset Editor is toast. According to early findings over at UKTS, the problem may be with those running WinXP - folks with Win7 don't appear to affected.

I contacted RSC Support about this (has anyone else?) and got this reply:
'Dear Alan,
Thank you for contacting the Railsimulator.com customer support, your inquiry has been logged with a member of our dedicated customer support team.
This sounds like a DRM error Alan it could be related to XP clients with Windows 7 have not reported this.'
I think this means that the problem is XP related!
