Dash 9 repaint issues

I have Michael Zimmer's UP/SP Dash 9 repaints installed, and while they worked fine before the Dash 9 update, now they cause a "picasso" effect when I try to place then in the scenario editor.

Is there any known fix for repaints that stopped working after the update?

There will be two issues;
  • First you need a copy of the new shape file - easiest way to sort that out is to just follow the installation instructions again. That should hopefully fix the external distortions.
  • Then you'll need to fix the cabview, which involves some editing of blueprints. If you don't mind doing that:
    • Open the engine blueprint from the Default folder
    • Search for "WiperPairs", copy the entire section and remember where it is
    • Open the repaint blueprint
    • Paste the copied "WiperPairs" section into the correct place

Good luck!

I guess is needed to copy also the whole children section (is easier than part of children) to get the new headlights, unless the old re-paint already had headlights...

Thanks for the replies, and thanks papa for moving the thread. I'm trying to find the original repaint(s) online...and not having much luck. I thought I saved it but I didn't.

Search the file library for "bobbel66-SP_UP_Dash9" and tell me if thats the original or not. I installed those and get a 'missing texture' on some of the numbers where the yellow is painted on the black SP locos

I searched with that term and no Dash9 repaints come up. !*don-know!*

you have to search the RW2 library. And disregard my comments about missing textures. Works fine now apparently, at least on Donner Pass

Yeah still getting missing textures on the UP/SP repaints, and weird picasso effect in cab.

The Picasso effect in cab maybe is due to the (missing) new rain windshield effect and wipers, as Kali has posted above.

Y'all need to learn to search: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=5680 !!*ok*!!

Missing textures should be fixed by verifying the game files.

I just downloaded MZ's Dash 9 re-paint set (though I didn't installed it yet) and looks like each engine has an unique number, so it seems to explain the missing texture numbers (if you are swapping engines with RW Tools maybe you can not change the engine number). Just a thought.

Verifying game files doesn't fix repaints, does it? Everything is working fine except the repaints, and I'm just gonna chalk that up to the updated Dash9 and using a 2010 repaint on it. No big deal
