I recommend Blue Light's scenarios, all quite interesting.
Lately I have seen several instances of "drop" instructions not working correctly in standard scenarios.
I hope we can find the cause and a solution.
Note: there are two different task lists that can be displayed in RW3 by hittinh the F1 key.
- The "old" one is displayed when you are not using the F4 hud. It shows all task, with a green checkmark next to the completed tasks. At the end of the scenario, if all tasks have a green checkmark, then the scenario will get a green checkmark in the scenario list in RW3. Otherwise the scenario will be marked as failed (red X mark).
- The "new" one is displayed with the F4 hud. It has no check marks, instead completed tasks are removed from the list.
The problem I've seen is as follows:
After dropping cars as instructed, the drop instruction disappears from the "new" task list, leading you to believe all is well, but the task does NOT get a green check mark in the "old" one, and thus the scenario is never marked as completed.
What remains is finding out why it doesn't get the green check mark. Sometimes it seems to be related to swapping out rolling stock with RW_Tools. Sometimes it seems to be related to the length of the track marker, or to the exact position of the consist on the marker.
Question: if a marker is too short for the consist and you have to drop the consist on it, where should you drop? WHen the engine is on the marker, or when the cars are on it? If so, which cars, the first ones or the last ones?
