Good Morning:
Anyone else had problems with this scenario. When I try to start this scenario all I get are two AI trains, the train and rolling stock that the readme tells me to drive does not exist.
Any help would be appreciated.
Chandler

Did you have all of the assets that the read me requires? If not the read me is quite specific as to where you can obtain them.

Good Morning:
Thank you for the quick reply. Yes I have all the assets that the readme requires, the problem seems to be that only part of the scenario is there. When I open the rwp file using winrar I get the number of the scenario.

And then when I open that scenario with RW_Tools I get a different named scenario with only two consists.

Hope this helps.

I'm sorry your are having problems with the scenario. I'm just guessing here but your file might have been corrupted during the download. I suggest that you go ahead and re-download the scenario. Delete the scenario from the package manager, and then reinstall the file.

Good Morning:
No joy. Deleted the file that I downloaded yesterday and redownloaded. Deleted scenario and reloaded, same problem. Maybe someone else will have a minute to check it out, I seem to be the only person running scenarios.
Thanks for you time

Blue Light, you made an error packaging this scenario.
You put it in folder 765671a1-7cd0-4261-8125-953ae52a599b.
This folder is already used by the "Pueblo start" freeroam scenario.
Please repackage and republish. Thanks.

I would like to apologise to everyone who has downloaded my scenario, and has had problems with it.
These are the steps I used to package this scenario: 1.) Left clicked + sign on Routes. 2.) Left clicked + sign on Tennessee Pass 2. 3.) Left clicked + sign on scenarios. 4.) Check marked Portland Cement. 5.) Added slected file to package. 6.) Filled in author blank. 7.) Marked package unprotected. 8.) Left clicked create package. 9.) Left clicked OK on package these assets.
I am at a loss as to why there are problems. If I missed something in the packaging process please let me know.

Don't worry Blue Light. Things happen! If you have RW Tools, why not try packaging the scenario with it.

I have used RW Tools to package my other scenarios. This time it went buggy on me, gave me an empty file folder everytime I tried to package the scenario. I even went so far as to delete RW Tools and reinstall with the latest version. I ended up with same result, an empty file folder. That's why I decided to use the Railworks Package manager.

Later this evening I will be uploading to Hawk a revisied version of Portland Cement. Some of the problems were related to an incomplete list of needed freeware, my apoloiges for not being thorugh. Another was with the final drop and that has been removed in this version. I would like to thank all the members of the community that helped me with this, in particular I would like to give a big hand to Chacal for his invaluable help beta testing. Once its on file, I hope you enjoy the scenario.
I currently have four irons in the fire so to speak. They are the Butte Divsion, NEC, Northeastern Rail Works, and Ohio Steel 2

I recommend Blue Light's scenarios, all quite interesting.
Lately I have seen several instances of "drop" instructions not working correctly in standard scenarios.
I hope we can find the cause and a solution.
Note: there are two different task lists that can be displayed in RW3 by hittinh the F1 key.
- The "old" one is displayed when you are not using the F4 hud. It shows all task, with a green checkmark next to the completed tasks. At the end of the scenario, if all tasks have a green checkmark, then the scenario will get a green checkmark in the scenario list in RW3. Otherwise the scenario will be marked as failed (red X mark).
- The "new" one is displayed with the F4 hud. It has no check marks, instead completed tasks are removed from the list.
The problem I've seen is as follows:
After dropping cars as instructed, the drop instruction disappears from the "new" task list, leading you to believe all is well, but the task does NOT get a green check mark in the "old" one, and thus the scenario is never marked as completed.
What remains is finding out why it doesn't get the green check mark. Sometimes it seems to be related to swapping out rolling stock with RW_Tools. Sometimes it seems to be related to the length of the track marker, or to the exact position of the consist on the marker.
Question: if a marker is too short for the consist and you have to drop the consist on it, where should you drop? WHen the engine is on the marker, or when the cars are on it? If so, which cars, the first ones or the last ones?

For the question, and according to my own my experience: you have to leave any part of the consist over the (short) mark, that's enough, ie at least a small part of dropped consist (or car) must be on the mark, not the engine instead. I have a scenario in which I dropped a long consist (23 cars) over a mark as short as one car lenght.
And I also found a long time ago that you don't need to indicate all cars you wanna drop, just one of them (for example the one in the front end of consist) is enough to make instruction complete sucessfully. Something like that.
Cheers,
Doc.
