BACKUPS

Unread postby fluteman70 » Thu Jul 26, 2012 9:58 am

I have the following backups in two seperate folders:
Railworks3Backup/RW_Backup1
and
Train Simulator 2012/Disks 1, 2, 3 &4/ each disk contains the following "Train Simulator 2012_disk1_0.sid" (or disk 2, 3 or 4)

How do I restore them to the original?
TIA
Regards,
Fred

I would say to use your software you backed it up with. It should have a restore utility somewhere.

I already went that route. If there is a restore I can't locate it. Of course at my age that doesn't mean there isn't a restore and I just can't find it.
Thanks,
Fred

The easiest way to back up, if you have the space, is to just copy the whole Railworks folder somewhere else, then when you need it, copy it back over. I do not know what software your using so I can not help you there. I dont use backup programs so I really know nothing about them. I just copy everything to back it up.

Bob's right, it depends on what backup program you used. When you say "disk 1,2,3,4" that tells me you used the Steam backup function, which doesn't work. Hasn't worked for years.

I use an external hard drive, they are cheap, plug into USB and have software already loaded. Just copy your "steamapps" folder, and your Documents folder, if you have to reload Windows, and that's it. Copy those two folders back in, you are done! Of course, verify the RW game files. Clear blueprint cache. You should be back in the game. !!*ok*!!
