Auto Numbers

Just when I think I have the .dscv number file under control......
I am doing a repaint and have edited the file to display only one number, such as 576861
I made sure the same .dscv file is in every version of this car.
When I add the car to the world, I get a number from the OLD .dscv file that I have long ago edited.
When I change the car number in the scenario editor I get 543210.
No matter what number I put in the .dscv file I get 543210 on the repaint.
What is IT I am missing here?
Thanks!

Make sure your bin file is pointing to the dscv you edited. I've gone back trough my stuff and found out it still pointed to a default one or something like that. Also. If it's a car # that uses 6 digits, change the dscv to 3 digit # or 4 or 5 digit number with only one entry. The game won't recognize it and there for won't auto number it. That's also a good way to test that the unit is actually pointing to the dscv you edited.

Some progress.
I have identical dscv files, all with one car number.
It sill insists on showing me 43210 which is not editable.
Seems odd.
