Numbers on trains question

Here's a real quick noob question that Im sure anybody here can answer. Using RW_Tools, sometimes when I replace a Union Pacific loco (or maybe any other loco also, cant be sure), the orange loco numbers appear on the engine I replace it with, as seen here.

When replacing engines with RWTools leave unchecked the box "Don't Change number when swapping rolling sotck".

Makes sense haha. I figured that out right after I posted. It didn't appear to be working because everytime I'd click on another consist, and then click back, the little box would pop up with the number in it again.

Which brings me to another question. How come when I edit a consist, then edit another consist and click back on the original one I edited, it appears as though the rolling stock has been swapped back to the default stock when it fact it really hasn't? If I click off a consist and reclick it, the changes don't appear until after I've saved the scenario then bring up the editor again

That's just how Mike programmed RW-Tools.
Not a bug, just seems like bad design.
He may have a technical reason for doing it this way though.

The reason it does this is because until you click save, it is still reading the original file you opened. Once you click save it copy's the original file, then edits it then saves it with the original name, the old one gets a new name or a different format.

Glen is right, you have to save, then what I do is exit RW then start again. Works great every time. I think it's the restart that does it.
