Ghost Train

Unread postby hughes407 » Tue Apr 03, 2012 4:33 pm

On the Incoming Freight, Part 1 scenario for the Seattle route, the AI train coming into the yard shows only couplers and a light cone as it comes by the Player loco, both in camera 1 and 2. If I change the angle of camera 2 a little, the bodies snap into view and then stay in view for the rest of the scenario. This is repeatable every time. I have seen this one or two other times in other scenarios. I have a fairly good computer systems, i7 64 bit processor, 12 GB RAM, GTX 570 video card. I see a solid 26 Hz on the frame rate display.

Just curious if anyone else has seen something similar and any reason or speculation as to the cause.

What is the Master Detail Level set at on the in game settings screen? It should be on 10 or you can lose a lot of objects.

Master Detail Level is set to Highest. On the hardware settings, I set it to High and then customized by increasing Anti-Aliasing to 2x2. Resolution is 1280x1024. Mult-core and 30FPS Lock are checked. I tried reducing Anti-Aliasing and unchecking Multi-Core without any change. By the way, just what does the FPS Lock do for me anyhow?

FPS lock keeps the frame rate from going over whatever setting you choose (as if it ever gets as high as 60) Supposed to make everything smoother.

Your settings seem OK. I don't have the Seattle route so I can't check it. Are your video drivers up to date?

Have you made any changes to the default settings in the video driver control panel? Best to leave it or put it on application controlled.
