Is There A Way To Speed Up Virtual Time.

Unread postby BlueLight » Sun Apr 01, 2012 7:31 pm

I am currently working on a scenario using the THOMAS-OTTO West Colton-Barstow route. My question is there a way to speed up time to see if my AI trains are operational as opposed to running the route. **!!bang!!**

On start screen (v11.0b), Settings tab, check EnableAsyncKeys.

To speed up time in game (when playing a scenario):
Ctrl+Shift+5 = 5 times faster
Ctrl+Shift+4 = 4 times faster
Ctrl+Shift+3 = 3 times faster
Ctrl+Shift+2 = 2 times faster
Ctrl+Shift+1 = (back to) normal speed

Also this is great when charging brake lines, waiting in the hole and filling / emptying hoppers.

The Async Keys are indeed a boon for driving those long-haul scenarios, but beware of one thing: velocity. Adjusting your engine's speed while running in Asynchronous mode is really tricky! At least I find it so.

I just ran through Donner from end-to-end at 5x, and I have to admit that it will be hard to play this route the whole way at normal speed *!greengrin!* .

Every so often I would switch back to 1x, and it seemed like it was creeping along so slowly that a pedestrian could pass the loco.

Next I need to try the NEC at 5x *!twisted!* ,
