"Laptops only good for throwing." You forgot skeet shooting. They are great for that! !!*ok*!!

Do you have a cooling pad for that lappy, Mike? My POS Area 51 will toast a cheese sandwich without the cooler under it.

Have you compared what's happening to you to what happened to SMM?

Looks similar.

try starting up in Safe Mode. When you boot up the laptop, start tapping the F8 key. You should get to a black screen with white text with several boot options. Choose Safe Mode with Networking. Now, go to Add and Remove Programs (or Programs and features) and uninstall your video drivers. Reboot and see if you get a screen. Windows will install default crappy drivers. Now go to the website for the maker of the laptop and download/ install the latest drivers for that model. See if that helps.

I have an ATI video board and if I do not have the settings of the board and Application COntrolled, then I get white ground and black sky. This happened when we got TS2012. Check your video board control panel.

mdurdan wrote:@ artimrj That's whats happening here, white everything and black sky. How did you fix yours? !*don-know!*

Open the Catalyst COntrol Center/AMD Vision Engine Control Center (depends on your version) and make sure you have things set to Use Application Settings. Especially Anti Aliasing. I found I can use any Anisotropic settings, but Aliasing has to be application controlled or its all white and black.

Laptops make a decent cutting board.

I made a special second Win7 install on my system in a seperate partition. It is a lean clean install without any other stuff and drivers being loaded or running in the background, in order to free up max resoures.

I wish I could do that, my laptop is used for everything, studio recording, other games and simulators, and so on,

Why would that be a problem for a second Win7 install on the same system ?

Also I should mention I fixed the black and white problem

Great, so the jello cooling trick realy fixed it ?
