Montour Railroad - Trouble finding files

Unread postby GuilfordRailSD45 » Fri Feb 10, 2012 6:44 pm

Hello Everyone,

I'm rather new Railworks (TS-2012) and brand new to this website, so forgive me if I'm not asking this question in the right place. :P

Anyhow, I was installing the requirements for the Montour Railroad, and in the readme file there are instructions to download "us-wood-ties-tracks.rar" from "www.otto-wipfel.co.uk/rw-downloads" I followed the link, but there is no "us-wood-ties-tracks.rar" file.

Am I missing something, or what?

Thanks in advance!

That's because Otto pulled a lot of RW stuff from his site. He does that several times a year. He'll get mad at RS.com and RW and pull his RW stuff from availability and swears he's done with RW, only to return back to messing with it and putting the stuff back on his site.

Most likely, if you give it a couple of weeks he'll put it back up.

Ah okay. Well that's too bad, but yes, hopefully they're back up sometime soon.

Thanks!

Unfortunately for the community, depending on Otto to keep his RW stuff available is not the best idea. *!!wink!!*

He is now messing with ORTS, when he gets tired of that he will be back as usual. I suggest someone, maybe the author of Montour make the files available here.

If it's anything Otto has done any editing on, or had anything to do with, I'd prefer not to host it here. *!!wink!!*

I hear ya Hawk, feel the same way. Must have been having a senior moment. Only bad thing is, the Montour route needs it, so maybe the author will supply the files. I tried using the track changer deal once and almost trashed my whole route. In fact there are still remnants of my attempt in the tracks.bin file. Fortunately they dont effect anything.

I've sent Otto a message though asking him if I can host his edited Atlantic file at my site. If anything might be able to get it up and running so the new members can download it and easily install it in the game, while the other at trainsim is almost impossible to install to use.

I have that file if you need it. Send me a PM if you want me to send a link to it.

Hi,

I'm also very new to this site (and Railworks in general) - just downloaded and installed the Montour route and can't wait to explore it.

I'm having the same problem as others in not being able to locate this particular file. If anyone has any pointers, I would appreciate it.

Thank you,
Chris

Thank you for the help - works fine, now.

It's great to ride on the line that goes through my own backyard!
