Ohio Steel 2 scenario 2 problems

Unread postby rninrvr » Sat Jan 21, 2012 1:41 pm

I am working my way through the scenarios in this great route by Rich Gaber and can hardly get started in scenario 2. When I back down to couple to the 6 coil cars that are to be taken to Stone Creek, I can't get them to couple to the engine. I have tried speeds from 0.1 to 1.5 mph and as I look at the join point I can see the car and engine couples just pass through each other. I have coupling override and automatic coupling checked in the options menu. Anyone have an idea as to what is happening.

That sometimes happens to me - usually saving the scenario and totally restarting the game will let me couple.

Thanks Kali, I will give that a try since I am not experiencing any issue like this on other routes including Fort Kent.

You using the stupid F4 HUD or the F3 Driver's Guide? Second or third tab on the F3 HUD shows you the loco and the cars coupled and you just click to couple or uncouple them!

No, I use the F3/F5 displays. I hate that new one that F4 brings up. When this was going on the coupler tab would not show the cars I was trying to couple to. Like they were not even there. When I restarted as Kali suggested, all is working well now.

Good that it's working now. But two things to remember, once every few days, verify the game files. And before each RW session, clear the blueprint cache. Now, go have some fun! !!*ok*!!

Hey Chris if you verify the game files you know you lose all the changes that you make to the game. All the horn fixes cab view fixes etc.

Sometimes the game forgets where vehicles are - I can only assume it's something to do with vicinity & starting physics, and in this case not starting physics.

I had some issues with the carry over scenarios from the Dover route. Numbered from 1 to ??. Some would not even run and could not be corrected. There is a revision out now for those who ourchased direct and coming for steam users. It is v1.2. I now can run the early scenarios.

That is good to know since when I tried to run scenario 6 it at first did what 2 did, then I saved and went back in and now its giving me broken consist. I am going to try to run from beginning to see if that will get it to work. I could never get it to load from a save. When I ran it again from the start it worked without any issues. Will be nice when we get the v1.2 that should be sent out soon. Hope it also fixes that road at Dover Steel where the cars just go through you without stopping.

My solution to this problem is to run a DOS batch file with all of my subject-to-overwrite changes incorporated. Sure it takes awhile to create and a couple minutes to add something new, but it's a breeze to run whenever a verify or RSC update happens.
