Must be on your end, I hear crossing bells pretty much every time. May be one or two odd crossings that don't work, tho.

I don't hear them on the crossings that enable traffic to stop, I still use the old SMM signals that don't stop traffic for that reason. I like hearing the clanging bells as I go through a crossing. Plus the traffic stops too abruptly, the cars will be going 45 and stop in a milisecond at the crossing. The new signal gates are too jerky also. Just stick with the old ones where you had to place the links by hand, they work great.

Yep! Same problem here. I swap out default crossings with SMM Digital. The only thing I've got left to do is figure out how to increase the sound cut-off distance so that they gradually fade in as you approach them.
