Hi, robbit. I just tried all five free roam scenarios for Donner Pass and I start above ground on each of them. The second one, "Donner Summit", starts with no assets in sight, so I don't know what is supposed to happen on that one.
I know there's been a lot of negativity about this route and its problems, but TS has already issued a patch that was automatically downloaded after verifying cache files. I tried the first regular scenario, "Donner Pass", but cannot get past an AI train derailment that happens at exactly the same geographic coordinates every time. I've run it 3 times now and it fails at the same coords each time. I assume it relates to the grade transitions issue.
Well, I am looking forward to having this route fully fixed and operational. Meanwhile, I'll travel to Portland, Maine, Altoona, PA, or Fort Kent, ME for some quality simming.
Hope this helps!
Regards,
Marc

Thanks for your reply, I got this problem after the update so I cleared checked the integrity of the files and that fixed it.
I do have other issues with the route but they will be fixed in time I am sure.

Yes, another thread here has a reply from the route creators outlining exactly what this update fixed.
http://railworksamerica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=39576#p39576Unfortunately the gradient transition was not among them. Maybe you've already seen it, but they said the gradients are a future fix. Probably take a LONG time to do that as there are probably thousands and thousands of them.
We'll keep looking!
Best,
Marc

Gradient transitions aren't that hard to fix and the major ones like the one out of Truckee could take priority over the not so noticeable ones.

Yes, but it's still time consuming. Today I started to drive the route from Roseville to Sparks using a single loco in Free Roam mode. I started this morning and by the time I quit mid-afternoon I had JUST crested the pass. I saved it on the way down, so I can pick it up after updating the desktop with the new GTX 550Ti card.
Can't wait!

M.
